Shim and your privacy

The short version is that Shim doesn’t collect anything about you. It has no account and no server, and nothing in the app reports back to me.

What Shim keeps on your phone

Your plan: the blocks you add, your working hours, the things you’ve set to repeat, and the tray of things you haven’t planned yet. It also keeps the date you first opened the app, to count the free trial, and whether Apple says your subscription is active, so the app still works offline.

All of that stays on the phone. The home-screen widget reads today’s plan from the same phone.

What goes to Apple

If you subscribe, you buy from Apple, and Apple’s privacy policy covers that. Shim only learns whether a subscription is active. I never see your name, your card or your Apple Account.

What Shim doesn’t have

There are no analytics, ads or trackers in the app. Reminders are scheduled on the phone itself and don’t pass through a server.

If you email me

I’ll have your email address and whatever you wrote. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and your plan is gone. One thing stays behind in the phone’s keychain: the date you first opened Shim, so reinstalling doesn’t restart the trial. It says nothing about you.
