A day planner for the day that doesn’t go to plan.
Put in the appointments you can’t move and the work you want done around them. When something runs long, Shim moves the rest of the day for you and tells you what won’t fit any more.

Lunch runs 20 minutes long. Here’s what Shim does.
You don’t drag anything. The afternoon is worked out again from where you actually are.

The dentist stays at 3:00 PM. Groceries no longer fits before it, so it goes after. Project work would now end past the 5:30 PM you set as the end of your day, and Shim says so while there’s still time to choose: drop Bills & paperwork and the day fits again.
Less to manage than the day itself.
Two kinds of block
An appointment can’t move, and nothing gets scheduled over it. Your own work can: it keeps its length and its order, and goes wherever the day has room.
Done is the only button
There’s no Start and no stopwatch. Tap Done when you finish. Finish early and the time goes back to the rest of the day.
A minute to plan
A block is a name and how long it takes. Nothing to set up first, and no system to keep up with. Add what’s on today and go.

One thing at a time.
The Focus screen shows the block you’re on, how long is left and what comes next. If the next thing is a drive away, it counts down to when you need to leave. Turn the phone on its side and it fills the screen.
Travel time
Say how long it takes to get there and back. Shim keeps that time clear and plans the rest around it.
Repeats
Weekly or monthly, and a monthly one can step around weekends and US holidays.
Widgets
What you’re on, how long is left and what’s next, on the Home Screen, the Lock Screen and StandBy.
Reminders
A brief before your day starts, a nudge before each change of task, and a wrap-up that offers to move what’s left to tomorrow.
Push it back
Not ready for the next thing? Push it back from the reminder and the day adjusts.
Labels
Seven colours for telling one kind of work from another, if you want them.
Your plan stays on your phone.
Shim has no account and no server. There are no analytics, ads or trackers in it, and reminders are scheduled on the phone itself. How Shim handles privacy.
Who makes it
I’m Dillon, and I make Shim on my own. I use it to plan my own week. If you have a question, or want to know when it’s out, email me at dillon@johnsonsoftware.dev.
